Practice your skills in responding to a major emergency or disaster by working in an Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).

Participants will be coached through an applied exercise which utilizes simulation and immersive technologies to support learning. This realistic environment will provide a safe opportunity for participants to assume a role in an EOC where they will apply applying current site-support principles and processes. Coaches and instructors will be available to guide and support participants through a variety of tasks and activities in this secure learning environment.

This hands-on immersive experience will be a great refresher for experienced personnel and an eye opener for those new to emergency response. It is ideal for participants to have some previous EOC training, but all delegates will be welcome. This workshop is being held at the JIBC’s Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building in New Westminster. Participants should come prepared to get involved in this casual work environment!

NOTE: Due to lower than expected registrations for this workshop, the Incident Command Post (ICP) element which was previously described for the workshop is now only being simulated.
